There's hope this Christmas
published: Sunday | December 23, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir:

The theme of this letter is Christmas. As the saying goes, "Once there is life, there is hope". This means that once there is life, we have the opportunity to change for the better. Let us not make this opportunity slip away from us.

Once again, we have the opportunity to celebrate Christ's birth. In celebrating Christ's birth, we need to focus on what we can do to please Christ. As the Scripture says, "If you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). In Matthew 22:36, Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the most important commandment."

Christ as the focus

Let us celebrate Christ's birth with Christ as the focus, that is, do what pleases Him. The crime and violence is very displeasing to God. Let us stop and make a change for the better. This is an opportunity that we have to change, so let us make the best use of it.

Thanks be to God for His love and mercy and long suffering, because He wants all men to be saved (1st Timothy 2:4).

To God be all the glory, and to His holy Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Amen.

I am, etc.,
