"Dave, my boonoonoonoos," marked the beginning of the bride's vows to her husband. "Candacé, my love, my dove, my undefiled," were his words to her.
The two, Candacé Scott and Dave Martin, first-place winners of The Gleaner's 'My Flair Lady' wedding competition, stood before family, friends and officiating pastor, Rev. Donovan Cole, on December 15, to profess their love and commitment to each other through marriage.
Dressed in an ivory gown, with its bodice and train trimmed with delicate lace and pearls, Candacé waited patiently in a white stretch limousine provided by Limo Tours Limited, her prize for winning the competition.
After exiting her limousine, she playfully complimented a guest on looking dapper, seemingly unfazed by the time glitches in the ceremony.
Soon wed
Soon she glided down the aisle of the University of the West Indies Chapel with her parents on each arm. At the end of the aisle she met her groom, dressed in an ivory suit. The two were soon wed.
The ceremony culminated with a dance, performed to Alicia Keys' No One, by Justine Cohen and Ghana Hyatt. That was followed by a unity sand ceremony and they were finally presented as husband and wife.
The reception was held at Pollyanna Caterers. Tables were draped in green and blue linen, in keeping with the colour scheme of the maid of honour and bridesmaids' dresses.
Guests included: Achaia Scott, Nicholas Martin, Candice Lewis, Tanika Haughton, Rodney Johnson, Joseph Haughton, Peta-Gay Johnson, Elaine Jackson, Michelle Martin, Doris Haughton, Beres Gordon-Haughton, Tomeca Campbell, Justine Cohen, Jodi-Ann Hayr, Latoya Swaby, Raymond Duncan, Joy Spence and Craig Binns
