Ah, my dears, so many parties, so little time! Oh precious angels, what a season! Luvs, it is speeding fabulously along like a house on fire and then some!
Edward and Carla Seaga's annual Christmas Day bunch at their lovely St. Andrew residence with family members and close friends in attendance, sharing good company , stimulating discourse, an excellent repast and Mr. Seaga's favoured eggnog. It was a most precious and favoured outing!
Also on Christmas Day, socialite Jennifer Lim, was also hosting her annual Christmas Day brunch. And a fab-fest it was too, with among the guests being Prime Minister Bruce Golding and his wife, Lorna Golding; Transport Minister Mike Henry and his wife, Dawn Chambers Henry; Dr. Don Christian and his long-time companion Hyacinth Davidson, plus a number of relatives and friends. Sylvester Powell went to town and then some in the kitchen as he simply turned out one absolutely fabulous feast that was simply and deliciously of the gourmet kind and nothing but!
Later that night it was all about the annual Christmas dinner at Kenny Benjamin's. This outing not only offers one of the best meals, marrying western Christmas offerings with a selection of ethnic eastern dishes that makes the tongue dance in appreciation and the palate shout in abject and total delight.
And with the matriarch of the Benjamin family, the very elegant Doris Benjamin, visiting from her South Florida home; along with his children Nicholas and Brooke Benjamin, in from college in Toronto, joining their baby brother, Brandon Benjamin, his mother the lovely Aloima Suarez and their aunt, the stunningly gorgeous Sheila Benjamin McNeill and her hubby, Oppostition Spokesman on Tourism Wykeham McNeill - it was a family affair. Friends, Rajiv Bakshi and his companion, Dorothea Gordon-Smith; Al Niazi; R. Christene King; Robert Haughton; Vinay Walia; Rajan and Sonia Trehan; Vikran Aditi; it made for a most relaxed do and then some!
Meanwhile, in Long Island, New York, it was akin to Linstead reunion as friends and family gathered at the Long Island home of Frances Allison, where daughter Cherise Francis-Windle and her hubby, John, jetted in from California, along with their daughter, Victoria Windle, and played hosts.
Doves, the buzz was it, all that and then some, between the snowfall, ice and wind, there was sorrell aplenty, to warm the cockles of the soul. The lamb and ham, ackee and codfish and Johnny cake, rice and peas and eggnog made for a taste of home and then some.
Catch up
And with guests such as Jannieve Jackson, her siblings Carla Jackson-Buchanan, Karl-Gregory Jackson and Paul-Navarro Jackson, in attendance, along with friends Shirley McCatty-Harrison; Devan Oates, there was plenty to catch up on and lots to discuss, and so it was way into the night before it was all said and done!
Carl Bliss' annual Boxing Day brunch was a spectacular success, and saw a slew of international personalities jetting in for the annual must-attend.
On Christmas Eve, however, it was all about the Jacks Hill residence of Ian Garbutt and his companion, the fabulous Sonia Khan, as the couple opened their home to family and friends, and hosted a charming dinner/reception that was so fine, it is still the talk of the town.
And then there was the annual Christmas Eve Pulse season-ending bash at Villa Ronai, but more anon, as indeed this one was a fab-fest and nothing but!
Then my daahlings, last Saturday, the place to dine was definitely The Courtyard at the Marketplace as here my dears, there was literally no room for the hundreds of diners who swelled into the very chic restaurant row, for a fab dining experience.
Luvs, international singing sensation Shaggy was out; also spotted was the iconic one-time runway queen Audrey Burgess-Barakatt, just in LA. Joe English was in from Chicago, along with friend, noted Chicago-based journalist and writer, Munroe Anderson; Daign and Kerry Jones were out with their children; Patrick Bailey was out and about and looking in the thick of things after his recent health scare; the lovely Justine Henzel was out with her two lovely children; Mrs. Audrey Chin was also out; as was Carl Bliss; and the ever-so-hot Megan Bromley!
Tomorrow, however, being the 29th, it is hotelier and international A-crowder John Issa's birthday, and the celebrations are underway, at an undisclosed location.
Also celebrating tomorrow is famed Gleaner columnist Dawn Ritch.
Candles
The lovely Mitzie Pratt celebrated her very special day yesterday. As did the fab Lisa Marzouca and Rupert Bent. While on Wednesday, it was all about Sharon Beckford who blew out the candles on her cake.
Today, however, it's Dr. Peter Phillips who blows out the candles on his cake. As will dub poet extraordinaire Mutabaruka and one-time high-fashion model, the fabulous Bev Corke.
And special belated birthday wishes to the lovely Candice Buchanan, who took time off from her pre-med studies to celebrate her birthday, yesterday with family and friends in the Big Apple.
Gerd Jarchow and wife, Mara, arrived in the island for the holidays over the weekend.
Lloyd Jackson came in from Haiti.
Phillip Dayle flew in from Geneva, Switzerland.
Jennifer Nunes-Grey flew in from New York.
