A 'cheap shot'
published: Tuesday | January 1, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

Gwynne Dyer's article in The Gleaner of December 31, is despicable in my opinion. Just because he is a noted independent journalist published in 45 countries, should not allow him to speak 'evil of the dead'.

In a time when Pakistan is in mourning, the rest of the world does not need Mr. Dyer's selfish opinion, showing off, that he knew Ms. Bhutto, in other circumstances, that did not illustrate early political traits. I have always held high respect for Mr. Dyer's writing, but this one at this time, I strongly believe is a 'cheap shot'.

I am, etc.,
