NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana

(CMC)

The Jamaican Bridgmohan brothers Shaun and Jermaine are showing good form over the holiday season at American race tracks.

Shaun, currently second in the Fair Grounds jockeys' standings, registered three weekend victories, while younger brother Jermaine landed three victories in the last four race days at Aqueduct.

Shaun Bridgmohan has 24 wins in the five-week-old Fair Grounds season and is 10 behind leader Jamie Theriot.

Jermaine is now up to seven wins in the current Aqueduct season to be 17th in the standings. Alan Garcia is leading rider with 41 wins and Jamaican Rajiv Maragh is sixth with 20 wins.

At Louisiana's Fair Grounds, Shaun Bridgmohan scored two wins on Friday.

After capturing Thursday's ninth race, the 1998 Eclipse Award - North American Champion Apprentice - winner scored very easily in Friday's US$14,250 third race over six furlongs with the favourite Ze Lade.

The four-year-old filly won by 81/4 lengths in one minute 12.17 seconds at odds of 4 to 5.
