Grave national crime
The amazing disappearance of thousands of vinyl records and compact discs from the archives of the defunct Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC) is very sad news.
According to the newspaper report, "the music library, which was under the watch of the National Archives, appears to have been stripped of 80 per cent of its content and were removed over the period 2004 to 2007."
We, as concerned and patriotic citizens of Jamaica, must not allow this grave national crime to go unpunished and even more they need to be recovered and put into a secure and safe place where they belong.
I sincerely hope and pray that the police with the assistance of Interpol will locate and speedily retrieve those quite valuable and historically important vinyl records and compact discs which were stolen from JBC's archives.

No pork barrel
All the countries in the world that are heavily dependent on imports for basic raw material such as wheat and fuel have made some policy adjustments to minimise the impact on their citizens.
I voted for the Jamaica Labour Party to find suitable means to solve the problems not to tell me the problems without solutions. We do not have control over the world's economy but over Jamaica's economy.
This approach to use my tax fund to assist the most needed is in my view another political pork barrel approach. Why not use the same tax funds to benefit the entire population and not a chosen few.
I say, provide the sectors most affected with some duty concession, low-interest rate loans, or assisting in finding cheaper sources so that the benefit can be passed on to all consumers, the poor and not so poor who are equally feeling the pinch.

Come home to Ja!
I am asking all Jamaicans who live in United States, Canada, United Kingdom, etc. Please come, don't be afraid of coming back to your beautiful island where you were born, people here are good, not all are bad, we can build Jamaica we need your help so jobs, etc., can be here.
There are good and bad in the world so do not pin this only on the Jamaican people. We are not the worst. Open 2008 as these words: Peace is LOVE. Peace is KIND
Peace! Peace! Peace is God's desire for all mankind.
