Monday nomination deadline for PNP general secretary
published: Wednesday | January 9, 2008

Clarke … named party treasurer.

The People's National Party (PNP) has announced that nominations for the post of general secretary must be submitted to the party's headquarters no later than midday on Monday, January 14, 2008.

The post became vacant on December 31 with the resignation of Donald Buchanan.

PNP chairman Robert Pickersgill says a replacement will be elected at the party's National Executive Council meeting on Sunday, January 20.

Meanwhile, PNP vice-president emeritus Roger Clarke is the party's new treasurer.

He was named during a PNP Executive Committee meeting last night.

Mr. Clarke replaces Dr. Vin Lawrence, who resigned as treasurer more than a year ago.

The party chairman had been carrying out the duties of treasurer.
