published: Wednesday | January 9, 2008

Elgin Taylor, Gleaner Writer

A fourth-form student is dead and another boy in police custody, following a stabbing incident at the Old Harbour High School in St. Catherine, yesterday.

Sixteen-year-old Jevaughn Moodie of Lennonsville in Old Harbour, was reportedly killed by another student of the same age.

Reports are that about 2:30 yesterday afternoon, a group of boys on the afternoon shift was involved in an argument during the lunch break.

The argument escalated and the 11th-grade student, who is alleged to have killed Moodie, was reportedly hit by one of the other boys.

In retaliation, the 11th grader reportedly pulled a knife, which he used to stab Moodie in the chest.

Moodie ran towards the school's bathroom where he collapsed.

He was pronounced dead at the Spanish Town Hospital.
