Kevin Williams has neither been demoted nor fired from premiership club, Sporting Central Academy, says Brandon Murray, general manager.
Murray was responding to a report last week that stated Williams was dismissed and replaced by Christopher Dawes, but he says only some internal shifting took place.
"Chris has always been the technical director and Kevin the assistant technical director, but because of the poor run we've been having, we decided to make some changes and let Chris run the senior team," said Murray.
Change imminent
Murray added that the more experienced Dawes, who represented Jamaica at the 1998 World Cup, was initially put in charge of the youth team to ensure a stable feeder programme for the premiership side. But with their current form of only one win in their last seven games and currently in ninth place, Murray said a change was imminent.
"Such a move is not unusual. Chris was always in charge of the team but we felt some changes were necessary," Murray added.
In 2006, when Harbour View missed a glorious chance to win the title, coach Donovan Hayles was moved to the Under-21 side and Lenworth Hyde Sr. brought in to coach the senior side at the East Kingston club. Hyde himself experienced a similar shift while at Portmore United the previous year, when Paul Young replaced him as the senior coach and Hyde put in charge of the Under-21 team.
