US Embassy to host info session on worker visas
published: Friday | January 18, 2008

The Visa Unit of the United States Embassy's Consular Section is hosting an information session, about short-term worker/performer visas, to introduce new processing information which will become effective February 1, 2008.

A release this week said the embassy would also be answering questions about the new procedures. "Our new procedures have been developed to improve the quality, efficiency and security of service provided to the applicants and their agents," the embassy said.

"Attending this session will give agents an opportunity to learn about the changes and get answers to questions about the short-term worker/performer programme."

The session will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 30 in the Consular Section waiting room at the U.S. Embassy Liguanea, St. Andrew, offices.

Things to note

Agents should plan to arrive early to go through security and be seated for a prompt 2:00 p.m. start.

A photo ID is required for admission to the embassy compound.

Cellphones, cameras, beepers and all other electronic items are prohibited, so please arrange to secure such items elsewhere before entering.

Transportation information is available on the U.S. Embassy website at:

http://kingston.usembassy.gov/parking2.html

Agents interested in attending MUST confirm their attendance via email to

h2bkingston@state.gov by January 28. Please include the first and last names, phone number and email address for all attendees.
