Newly crowned champion jockey, Omar Walker who rode the winning horse MEDIC ON BOARD in the sixth race at Caymanas Park on January 5 has been suspended for one raceday by the stewards for careless riding.

Walker was penalised for causing interference to WHITE WATER in the vicinity of the 300-metre point. His suspension will take effect on Wednesday, January 30.

Also suspended was fellow apprentice Omelio Francis for careless riding aboard THUNDER CLAP in the ninth race last Saturday. Francis was slapped with a two-day ban after THUNDER CLAP caused inter-ference to the favourite TOCUMEN on the rails and FOURFORTYTRAIN in the final 200 metres. His suspension will also begin on January 30.

Jockey Robert Reid, who rode KING ISAAC in the ninth race on Saturday, December 22 had his explanation accepted for the interference caused to PRINCESS ZANAI and FOUR-FORTY-TRAIN at the start.
