Greater Portmore aimat mid-season final
Greater Portmore are a win away from advancing to the WIHCON-sponsored Portmore Division Two Football League mid-season final.
Tomorrow, Greater Portmore, currently on 13 points, tackle Christian Pen (7) at the Ferdie Neita Park at 1 p.m. in the opening game at the venue. The feature game at that ground pits Braeton United against Portmore Pines at 3:00 p.m.
Portsmouth who won five straight games and are on maximum 15 points, are virtually in the final, and it will take something close to a miracle for them not to go through.
Portsmouth take on Daytona F.C. on their home turf in a 1:00 p.m. kick-off, while, at 3:00 p.m., Caymanas Gardens will try to move from the bottom of the standings when they battle Newtown Braeton.
Watson Grove (12) are the only other team with a mathematical chance of going through, and they will play a crucial match against inconsistent Hellshire United at Watson Grove, at 3:00 p.m.,
A win for Watson Grove, or a loss or a draw for Greater Portmore, will see Grove advancing. Caymanas Gardens Site D, and Racing United play the opening game at 1:00 p.m.
