Juciful tennis

The Juiciful Jamaica Junior Tennis tournament serves off at the Eric Bell Centre this morning, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The two-day event will focus on the girls under-16 singles, boys under-16 singles, boys under-12 singles and boys doubles.

This is the first time Juiciful will be sponsoring a major tennis tournament. In the girls under-16 category, Erica Robertson (Montego Bay) is expected to do well, along with Chantal Blackwood (Tennis Academy), while in the boys' division, Sheldon McIntosh (Ocho Rios) and Jordan Harris (Kingston) are the favourites.

Bridgmohan triple

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (CMC):

Jamaican riding ace Shaun Bridgmohan dominated Thursday's card at Fair Grounds with three wins that moved him up the jockeys' standings.

Bridgmohan logged a hat-trick of victories, scoring in races three, four and five to boost his tally of winners for the season to 43. He is up one place to second in the current jockeys' standings at Fair Grounds, behind leader Jamie Theriot (52).

AC, Inter getdeath threats

MILAN, Italy (AP):

Serie A leader Inter Milan has become the second Italian soccer team in two days to receive a threatening letter with bullets inside the envelope. The unsigned letter, which arrived yesterday, told Inter's chairman Massimo Moratti to be "very, very careful", the ANSA news agency reported.

The letter also insulted and threatened Inter coach Roberto Mancini and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is tied for the league lead with 13 goals.

A similar, unsigned letter arrived at the offices of AC Milan on Thursday in an envelope that contained a bullet.

The letter threatened Milan President Silvio Berlusconi - the former Italian premier who is also the head of Italy's center-right opposition - as well as club vice-president Adriano Galliani and coach Carlo Ancelotti.
