The Editor, Sir:I am a teen who is very concerned about the issue of bleaching among students in our schools. It has become such a practice that we fail to even recognise the real colour of some persons.Sad to say, both boys and girls are using these chemicals to discolour their skin. They are in the schools posing as scholars, when in truth and in fact, they are bleaching away their intelligence, hence, they become incompetent. Save yourselves
I am sick and tired of seeing young girls my age making themselves ugly and abusing their skin. Little do they know that they are doing complete harm to themselves. They may try this as a means of attracting the opposite sex, but sometimes it results in repulsion. We often discriminate against white persons because of their colour. Is it that we dislike them for their complexion? Because we bleach to get their complexion or something near it.Young girls, young boys, desist!! Save yourselves, preserve your complexion and be a proud black Jamaican.I am, etc.,
