Hottest topics on the cocktail circuit

No 'big up'

1. Whether it was a case of an overexuberant employee anticipating an employer's wishes, or it was a case of following instructions from on high, all agreed it was the very epitomy of tackiness and belittled those it was supposed to be 'bigging up'.

Personal space

2.Seems that the Big Yard is losing one of its senior personnel. Word out is that the boss wanted some "space" and so new accommodation is being provided in the commercial and business district for the one being ousted.

I spy

3.She is not able to maintain any meaningful friendships with her girlfriends as they complain that she expects them to operate like a network of spies reporting on her husband's every move. When they fail to act accordingly, she flies into a rage and accuses them of being disloyal. Of course, this is not sitting well with them, so they have resorted to keeping their distance.

Guess who's back?

4.The 'klepto' who borrowed over $500,000 from her friend and then disappeared has surfaced with offers of restitution following on some public notices querying her whereabouts.

Patiently Waiting

5.Personnel changes are not being effected fast enough for some and this is causing a sense of disquiet and betrayal within the ranks of the loyalists. Seems they reckon that some of those who have been enjoying some plum positions should have been replaced by now, to facilitate them.

Close observation

6.Others are watching carefully to see whether the one they think traded some party secrets to their opponents while they were in charge of the Big Yard, after he was demoted, will be rewarded with any of the cushy posts around.

Shake-up in the making

7.Another corporate shake-up is in the making as it seems all is not well within the organisation. Seems some of its top brass are major investors in the questionable scheme.

Elusive dollar

8.Just how much of the "lost" funds disappeared with the missus?

Old firestick?

9.Now that political and personal fortunes have changed, word is out that the estranged wife is trying to stage a comeback. Friends say though, that if this were to happen, it would most certainly lead to his undoing!
