No decision on Duncan petition
published: Saturday | February 9, 2008

Justice Lloyd Hibbert will continue to hear evidence in chambers on February 22 to determine whether Member of Parliament D.K. Duncan was served with an election petition.

Barrington Gray, the Jamaica Labour Party candidate for Eastern Hanover, is contending that a policeman served the election petition on Duncan.

However, Duncan is contending that he was not served with the petition. Duncan claims that at the time when Gray is alleging that he was served, he was at a government office.

Cross-examined

The policeman who allegedly served the petition was further cross-examined yesterday in the Supreme Court by attorney-at-law Abe Dabdoub, who is representing Duncan.

A government employee who was called as a witness denied seeing Duncan at the government office.

The government employee will be further cross-examined when the hearing is resumed.
