Applauding good fathers
published: Saturday | February 9, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

Women give life and replenish the beauty of humanity every time a child is born ... . Just as how God replenishes the universe and adds new life to it each day. I think women and children are the most beautiful in this planet (especially children).

I recently wrote a letter to The Gleaner titled 'Gov't should control fertility'. Some persons found it appalling and distasteful and I was compelled to clarify what I was really trying to get at.

Let me be unconditionally realistic and say, "Most men in their unfaithful and pleasure-seeking ways will never take responsibility for their actions." They don't walk around with new life within them (which is a beautiful thing), they don't feel childbirth pain and they are almost never at the delivery to witness the heavenly cry of the child and see his/her heavenly face as he/she witnesses light, much less to be involved in the rearing process.

Take a stance

Women should be aware of these infidels and stop giving these guys chances because unfortunately these men just don't care, but to my dismay women are still giving them chances and getting pregnant by them.

I never meant to take such a radical stance on the subject matter, it was grossly exaggerated but importantly I made my point. "Something must be done to prevent a woman from having five kids when she struggles with one."

I take this opportunity to applaud all the good fathers out there!

I am, etc.,
