Defending champions Harbour View marched into the semi-final round of the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Jackie Bell KO competition following a 3-2 win over rivals Boys' Town at the Collie Smith Sports ground yesterday.

With possibly the motive of a bit of revenge on their minds, as it was Harbour View who wrested the crown away from Boys' Town in last year's final, the home team began the game the more positive of the two.

Front man Denzil Watson, who recently returned to the team, gave the Red Brigade a deserved lead in 27th minute when loosely marked at the back post, he was able to tap the ball into the goal.

However, Harbour View forward Kavin Bryan soon came up with a reply and his 37th minute header, from a free kick taken by Lance Laing that just outside the penalty area on the flank, brought the scores level.

An even more exquisite header from midfielder Lovel Palmer would see the Stars of the East taking their first lead in the 52nd minute.

A well-weighted pass from national representative Laing allowed Palmer to slip the attention of his markers before glancing the ball just wide of a helpless Boys' Town keeper, Kirk Porter, at the far post.

Casual defending would once again lead to midfielder Jermaine Hue slamming the door shut in the 87th minute.

Boys' Town got a late consolation from Watson in injury time.

"We self-destructed. After scoring the goal we stopped playing aggressively and allowed them to come into the game," said Boys' Town coach Andrew Price.

"We gave up some silly mistakes, weren't tracking and gave up some soft goals. With a little commitment we could have had a positive result out of today's game but we didn't come for it," he said.

For Harbour View coach, Lenworth Hyde Sr, it was a job well done.

"It was a tough game, the intensity was high and you expect that playing Boys' Town," Hyde said. "I must commend the guys for their effort though, we had to fight and I think we will only get better from here."

In the day's other game, Duhaney Park also booked their spot in the last four following a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win over Bull Bay in an all-Super League affaire. The scores were tied 2-2 at the end of regulation and extra time.

Duhaney Park and Harbour View will join Waterhouse, who got by Cavalier 3-1 in extra time on Thursday, and Arnett Gardens who put in a sturdy performance to thrash rivals Tivoli Gardens 4-0 at the Anthony Spaulding Complex.
