The Editor, Sir:As yet, I have seen not a single feedback published in your newspaper supporting columnist Dawn Ritch for her very erudite op-ed piece on the Barack Obama presidential run, published in
The Sunday Gleaner on February 17. Ms Ritch and I hardly ever see eye to eye, but this time I must commend her for her very insightful phenomenological analysis of the Obama campaign.
Many black leaders in the United States, some of them preachers, have expressed similar views to those of Ms Ritch, viz, the imposter posturing of Obama, especially of his unwillingness to speak out against the institutionalised white racism that rules America. Some leaders have even categorised Obama as a good house negro, drawing from the slavery experience.
I see Obama as a Republican pawn, developed and activated to victimise the Hillary Clinton campaign, as Dawn Ritch intimated. That is a very solid and important analytical point of departure that blacks everywhere should ponder. Nice work, Ms Ritch.
