Take Royal Image

Orville Clarke, Gleaner Writer

Both the Pick-9 and Super-6 start anew at Caymanas Park tomorrow, this after one lucky punter walked away $2.1 million in Wednesday's Pick-9.

The Pick-9 embraces races two to 10, the Super-6 from five to 10. We look at the Super-6, which gets under way in race five, the Hot Line Stakes over 1200 metres for native-bred three-year-old fillies, to be contested by seven starters.

Expected to repeat

Seven have been declared including MEDUSA and LADY LIZ, respective winners of the Eight Thirty Sprint over the straight five course four weeks ago.

The Gary Subratie-trained LADY LIZ was by far the more impressive in winning in a sub-minute time and having worked exceptionally well since, is tipped to repeat at the expense of ALSAFRA and PASS LINE.

Next on the programme is an overnight allowance race over 1820 metres for the Omar Walker Trophy in honour of the champion jockey. Eight starters have been declared, including the 2003 Superstakes winner PITTACUS. Although getting on in age, PITTACUS enjoys two-turn races and having looked the part at exercise, gets the nod over JET SKIER and TOBAGO.

ROYAL IMAGE, who finished a good second to MR SKILL in the Dye Job Trophy over 1200 metres when last raced on December 1, has been burning up the track at exercise in preparation for the seventh race, the Sir Howard Stakes over 1200 metres for native bred three-year-old colts and geldings and looks hard to oppose.

Briefly, ZUNZUN, with Lasix now applied, gets the nod over LOVINGGOOD and ROYAL SOLUTION in the eighth race over 1300 metres for maiden three-year-olds, while it should be the speedy CLOCK WORK (working well) in the ninth for the Eros Trophy, despite the presence of lightly weighted stable companion PASSA PASSA, along with fellow lightweights IVAN THE TERRIBLE and FIRST IN THE SAND.
