Ananda Marga Prep
published: Wednesday | February 27, 2008

She was still munching on yellow popsicle when we arrived at the Ananda Marga preparatory school recently; but after her principal told her why we were there, she hurried to the bathroom and was back in no time. All traces of the popsicle were gone.

Davis

"My name is Kaybrianna Davis," she said. Kaybrianna is one of the top second-grade students at Ananda Marga Prep. She is quite fond of spelling and mathematics, although she admitted that the latter tended to be somewhat difficult.

The hard work will pay off in the future nonetheless, especially when little Kaybrianna reaches the tertiary leg of her journey on the road to becoming a medical doctor.

Bennett

Seven-year-old Kiwayne Bennett was the most enthusiastic of the Ananda Marga batch. He could not wait until it was his turn to tell us that his favourite subjects were mathematics and spelling, of course, because he liked "learning new words".

His eyes are not set on a language-based career for the future, however. The lad is aspiring to be a scientist.

Brown

Dyandra Brown is currently in the third grade. According to the youngster, her love for mathematics, particularly problems that require the process of addition, keeps multiplying. Like her schoolmate, Kaybrianna, Dyandra would like to be a doctor.

Douglas

Mikolia Douglas, in grade four, is a bit shy. But, when asked about his plans for the future he was bold in explaining that he enjoyed science immensely and wanted to become a lawyer.

Downer

Keelishaye Downer hopes to follow in her brother's footsteps and attend university as well.

"After attending university, I want to become a teacher - a chemistry teacher at university," she said.

After being asked to name the seven continents, as he said learning about the Earth and its land masses were among his favourite topics in social studies, Ravian Hull named them as quickly as a spreading wildfire.

Hull

The sixth-grader, who has a passion for science, dreams of becoming a surgeon and is determined to work hard to become just that.
