The Church of the Open Bible 59th annual conference and convention will get on the way next week in St Catherine.

Under the theme, 'Living in Love', the conference, which begins next Monday, will take place at the Church's National Complex in Twickenham Park. The conference will end on Tuesday and the convention will begin at the same venue on Wednesday, under the sub-theme, 'The Pre-eminence of Love'.

The convention will climax on Sunday, March 16, with an ordination and communion service at the National Arena in Kingston, starting at 9 a.m. Members of the public are invited.

As part of this year's activities, a series of youth activities will take place at the National Complex in Twickenham Park, this Saturday, March 8, under the theme, 'The Permanence of Love'.

Main speaker

The main convention speaker this year is the Rev Don Daniel Hamilton of Trinidad and Tobago. Rev Hamilton, a graduate of the West Indies School of Theology, has worked in both secular and Christian institutions in both Jamaica and the twin island republic. In addition to his pastoral responsibilities with the Faith, Hope and Love Centre, he had founded the Family Care Agency last year. He serves the centre as director/family therapist.

Rev Dr Stevenson Samuels, the general secretary of the Schools Christian Fellowship and Scripture Union, will be the main Bible study speaker at this year's convention.
