Pepsi marketing switch
published: Wednesday | April 2, 2008

( L - R ) Burrows, Dixon

John Burrowes, former marketing director of Pepsi Cola Jamaica, has been shifted to the beverage maker's regional team, and replaced here by Denise Dixon, the company said Tuesday.

Dixon now has full responsibility for the planning, design and implementation of all marketing programmes and policies, including brand management.

Pepsi Jamaica's portfolio of beverages include flagship brand Pepsi, Ting, D&G Sof Drinks, Tropicana, 7Up, Mountain Dew and Gatorade.

The company lays claim to 80 per cent of the cola market.

Burrowes joins Pepsi America - parent company to the Jamaican operation - and will work with PepsiCo International's Caribbean Market Unit, serving the English-speaking territories, but he will continue to work out of Kingston, according to Pepsi Jamaica general manager Andrew Reid.

The company has operated in Jamaica for eight years, but Pepsi has been distributed in Jamaica for half a century.
