JAMAICA'S MVP at the regional championship, Donovan Nelson, was among four Jamaican players included in the West Indies squad for the CLICO International Under-15 Cricket Championships.
St Elizabeth Technical's (STETHS) Nelson, a legspinner who ended the tournament with the most wickets - 11, along with all-rounder John Campbell of Tacky High, pacer Omar Samuels, also of STETHS, and all-rounder Raymund Senior of Excelsior, are the Jamaican representatives to the side for the championships, which bowl off in Barbados on Saturday, April 19.
Eight teams
The tournament, from April 19-May 4, will have eight teams competing - the West Indies, Pakistan, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Holland, Bangladesh and the International Cricket Council (ICC) Americas team, comprising players from Bermuda, Canada, The Cayman Islands and The Bahamas.
Matches will be played in Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Guyana, Barbados and St Kitts. The tournament will be the first of its kind since the Costcutter Under-15 championships that was won by the West Indies in England in 2000.
