BELIZE CITY, Belize (CMC):

People's United Party (PUP) leader Johnny Briceno was Wednesday sworn in as the country's new opposition leader.

He was administered the oath of office by Governor General Sir Colville Young during a brief ceremony at Belize House in Belmopan, three days after taking over the reins of the party.

Briceno was accompanied to the swearing-in by PUP supporters, including area representatives Cordel Hyde and Mark Espat.
