Jamaica Gleaner Letters
published: Saturday | April 12, 2008

LETTER OF THE DAY :'Dunce-bat' approach not good in school
THE EDITOR, Sir:The enthusiasm that Andrew Holness brings to the Ministry of Education is refreshing.

Tackling literacy after school

THE EDITOR, Sir: With increased talks about performance in the high schools in Jamaica and more specifically, the non-traditional high schools, I want to make a recommendation that may ease some of the burdens on the schools, especially regarding the literacy problem.

Nazi control

In Sherry South's letter, The Gleaner, April 8, 2008, reference was made to Dr Robert Kemper's article on the registration of the population for police control, and she proposed the same for Jamaica.

On gay rights and wrongs

THE EDITOR, Sir:This thing about gays and the rights they have and the rights they want is downright ungodly.

Bible word challenged

THE EDITOR, Sir: It is refreshing that the issue of 'gayness'/homosexuality is being allowed to have its exposure,

FSC media blitz unnecessary

THE EDITOR, Sir: I cannot understand the rationale for the hype stirring in the Financial Services Commission (FSC) surrounding the so-called alternative investment schemes.
