Last-chance meet at Stadium East today

As the Jamaica Amateur Athletics Association (JAAA) continues its drive to help athletes prepare for the Olympic Games and the World Junior Championships, they will host the first in a series of All-Comers meets at Stadium East today.

The meet, which is set to start at 3:00 p.m., will see most, if not all the island's top athletes, matching strides against one another as they first prepare for the National Championships that will take place from June 27-29.

Today's meet is open to all athletes and they will be required to register with marshalls overseeing the event.

Jamaican athletes are schedule to take on the world, first at the World Junior Championships in Poland - July 8-13 - and then the Olympic Games in Beijing, China, August 8-24.

The events down to be contested today are:- 100m, 200m, 400m, long jump, high jump, shot put, along with two relays, the 4x100m and 4x800m.
