Past student turns benefactor

MAY PEN, CLARENDON:

The May Pen High School in Clarendon, a Seventh-day Adventist institution, was recently boosted with 12 computers and four electron microscopes, along with a fully refurbished lab.

Dr Witford Reid, past student of May Pen High's graduating class of 1980, presented the gift and urged others to give back to their institutions.

During a brief handover ceremony, Witford said giving back was the key to improving the education system in Jamaica.

Winston Preedie, principal of May Pen High, who accepted the gift on behalf of the institution, was grateful and, as a mark of honour, plans to name the refurbished centre the Dr Witford Reid Lab.
