NOTE-WORTHY: Degradation in Jamaica
published: Friday | May 30, 2008

Degradation in Jamaica

It is with heartfelt pain that I am writing this letter. As a Jamaican living abroad, it turns my heart to see the depth of degradation Jamaicans have fallen into. How can we stand by and watch our island home being destroy because of immorality? God forbid.

Knowing all that, we know that if a nation has sunken so low then surely God promises to pour out His wrath if the people refuse to turn to righteousness.

Certainly, Bruce Golding was exercising his God-given conscience when he said homosexuality is immoral. I am sure he does not want the wrath of God to be poured out on the Jamaican people on his watch, hence, he is standing up for what he knows is right.

The God of Heaven is calling His people to take a stand. Stand for righteousness, stand for holiness. If doing so will cause you to be an unpopular politician then so be it. If it means Mr Golding will be standing alone, still stand, for God is on your side. Let's get back to the old landmark from whence we have fallen. May the God of Heaven bless you sir.

Fireworks

Sounds that seemed like gunshots close to us, living in Hope Pastures, created some anxiety, but it turned out to be Appliance Traders having some function in Hope Gardens and they were letting off fireworks.

It would have been nice of Appliance Traders to advise all citizens in the area of this event and so save us from this worry.

I really hope that they will take this advice on board for any such future event. This should also be a lesson to other companies who make use of the facilities of Hope Gardens - if you are going to do fireworks.

PM means no

I am a Jamaican living in England and I heard the prime minister's interview with the BBC.

I think that what he said is his opinion and nobody should try to change it. I do not believe in same-sex marriage or to give them the right in Jamaica. Jamaica is our little island, we should think of a man and a woman together, not two men or two women.

If God did make two men as a couple, how can a man produce? Can a male tree produce fruit?

Why is it that those gays in Jamaica don't stop pressuring the prime minister. He says no and he means no.
