The Editor, Sir:
I am really concerned about this constant debate about gays and lesbianism in Jamaica. Why are we subjecting ourselves to condemnation from these individuals who feel that they should indoctrinate members of this society with their unacceptable lifestyle? It is the prime minister's right as the leader of a democratic country to state his moral stance on such a situation as that which exists in our beloved island today.
It is apparent that other members of this country do not have the moral right to object to this type of lifestyle; we are ridiculed as the aggressors and perpetrators of injustice against these individuals.
Based on our current crime rate, why are we spending so much time on the 'gay' debate when almost all the offences committed against people in this country involves innocent individuals who are just caught in the line of fire of barbaric scoundrels.
Support Biblical teachings
It is time we wake up and accept the fact that if we want to be considered a strong nation, we must support the moral and biblical teachings of our forefathers.
Mr Prime Minister, I applaud your stance and I do hope that law-abiding citizens will continue to support your decision. These individuals are slowly creeping out of their holes and trying to attack us from the 'back'. This has to end now so the country can get on with more pressing issues, like coping with surging oil prices.
I am, etc.,
