Down's Syndrome Foundation to benefit from Indashio show
published: Friday | May 30, 2008

New York fashion designer Indashio and a model strut down the catwalk at a Viva Las Vegas 2008 collection show at the HDC Cupola Theatre, recently. Expect this and more on Saturday in Ocho Rios. - contributed

The Jamaica Down's Syndrome Foundation, co-founded by Dr Osmond Tomlinson and Dr Charmaine Scott, will receive a portion of the gate receipts from Indashio for two reasons says one of the organisers, Mitya Gore-Stuart.

The first is that Jamaicans have not fully educated themselves about this particular disease. Secondly, Indashio has always believed in giving back as he continues to be blessed, and thus the foundation has secured a wonderful partnership for this event. "Our goal is not merely to showcase beautiful clothing, but use this social gathering as an opportunity to give Down's Syndrome a voice," she told The Gleaner.

The show takes place in Ocho Rios, tomorrow at 8 p.m. at Coyaba Gardens and Mahoe Falls, Shaw Park Estate, St Ann.
