5 summer blockbuster movies of the 1990s: Summer is never complete without that special flick that will have everyone talking for the best months of the year. There are just too many summer blockbusters to list but these truly deserve the recognition of hot films to close out the previous century.

Terminator 2 - Released on July 3, 1991 and a winner of four Oscars. No one can forget when Arnold Schwarzenegger said: "Hasta la vista, baby!"

Independence Day - This Oscar-winning hit starred African-American Will Smith. The movie reminded the Earth could be vulnerable to an alien attack. Released July 3, 1996.

Baby Cham (left) and Alicia Keys during the video shoot for 'Ghetto Story: Remix Part Two' in Kingston, in July 2006.

Speed - On June 10, 1994, one would never have believed that one could live through, let alone enjoy, a movie where the majority of scenes were concentrated on a bus and train. Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock starred in this action masterpiece that bagged two Oscars.

The Sixth Sense - Released August 6, 1999. Probably the best movie to cap off the penultimate summer of the millennium. Who would have thought that Bruce Willis was ...?

Jurassic Park - This epic adventure/action released in June 11, 1993 was one of Steven Spielberg's best and surely reminded us why dinosaurs wouldn't fit in today's society.

4 Jamaican videos best described as unique. Many of us may agree our music is among the most unique and recognised across the globe. Here's a list of 'tuff' dancehall classics.

Baby Cham's Ghetto Story

Shabba Ranks' Ting-a-Ling

TOK's Footprints

Shaggy's Church Heathen

3 Trendy restaurants with a difference: Sure, it's well known that Jamaicans love to eat but we also demand that we enjoy ourselves. These eateries are not popular for nothing.

Prendy's on the Beach - Fish and festival/bammy while 'chilaxing' on the beachfront is welcome medication after a week of woeful work.

Cuddy'z - A great way to feast on sports while having a real meal with drinks on the side.

TGI Friday's - This place speaks for itself. At nights, it's perfect for friend and family get-togethers.

2 Most anticipated events of the summer: There's a fistful of events to choose from at this time of year but thousands of music fans are saving up for the Big Two.

Reggae Sumfest - Appropriately scheduled for July with top local and international entertainers set to take the stage.

ATI in Negril - The event of August where the young and reckless cast off all inhibitions during a wet weekend out west in a non-traditional celebration of Independence.

1 must-have accessory for the summer: Sunglasses - It's simple. Without shades you're not just at the sun's mercy, your style is also in jeopardy.
