  • Overhead bridge

As a motorist who has to drive on the busy highway to Spanish Town daily, I am asking parents to please teach their children to use the overhead bridge to cross the road instead of risking their lives by trying to cross the busy highway by Central Village.

Adults, please set the trend by letting the children see you using this overhead bridge which was constructed and placed there to protect and save lives.

  • Lack of foresight

About two weeks ago, I travelled to St Anns Bay. Before leaving Kingston I heard on the radio that Mt Rosser was impassable because of work being done on the new highway. However, on reaching Bog Walk, I did not see any sign indicating a detour further along the route, Linstead no sign, Ewarton no sign, until just before ascending Mt Rosser I saw two policemen indicating that I should turn down and take the alternate route as Mt Rosser was blocked.

Now, is it unreasonable to expect proper signs to be clearly placed right along the main road indicating to Jamaicans and visitors that the road was impassable and the point of detour? The National Works Agency should have some foresight in these circumstances.

  • Way to victory

There have been many discussions on the subject of crime and violence that is plaguing not only our nation but the world. Yet, for all that, there is still a victory to be won. I think government members and leaders of the security forces have done all in their powers to do what they can, yet haven't seen the victory.

First we must understand that there are two kinds of war: the physical war and the spiritual war. A physical war requires only an army of skilful and mighty men of war who can intelligently and carefully map out their path of intruding on the opposition for victory.

On the other hand, a spiritual war requires more than these; because it is a spiritual war, it requires supernatural help. I do believe the only way that we will have total victory is if we seek the Lord's help and wisdom.
