The second annual All Jamaica Invitational Grill Off will see 20 cooking teams competing for the title 'King of The Grill' for 2008. It will take place on Sunday, June 22, at the American International of Kingston in Constant Spring, St Andrew.

Team members will have the opportunity to showcase their cooking skills through hands-on interaction, as each team is required to prepare 10 whole chickens, 15 lbs of beef and 25 lbs of pork ribs.

Event attendees are privy to unlimited food sampling from team booths, along with fun-filled family entertainment and all day music. Last year's 'grill-off' event had more than 700 guests and for this year, they estimate that 1,500 people will attend.

Invitation only

This exclusive invitation-only event targets the entire family, primarily male and female, ages 25-55. For the children, there will be donkey rides, face painting and bounce-about. Sponsors this year include: TVJ, The Gleaner and CVM.

All the teams are gearing up, smearing up and spicing up to beat reigning grill kings, 'The Country Boyz'.

To compete for the top prize, request entries at: craig.powell@cwjamaica.com.

Entry fee is $12,000 per team which includes all the meats you will need for the day, as well as T-shirts for all team members and other giveaways.

So far, all 14 teams are ready to go. Gates open at noon and organisers are encouraging everyone to arrive early.

Once inside the venue, guests will be allowed unlimited sampling from the 14 booths, as well as Reggae Jammin' burgers and curry chicken. Refreshments will be on sale.
