The Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) will be celebrating its 65th anniver-sary tomorrow during a ceremony to be held at its East Avenue headquarters in St Andrew.
To mark this milestone, the association will formally launch a year-long series of commemorative events.
According to a release from the PAJ, the anniversary activities are designed to, among other things, highlight the evolution of journalism over the years and raise funds for the PAJ, which represents media practitioners.
"We are serious about making an impact on the lives of media workers through these com-memorative activities, hence our intention to showcase what has been accomplished over the last 65 years and what is possible for the future of our profession," PAJ President Desmond Richards said.
He disclosed that a 65th anniversary committee has been formed to implement the commemorative event over the next year. That committee is chaired by public relations veteran and PAJ life member, Carmen Tipling.
