New lab sweet music to Irwin High's ears
WESTERN BUREAU: Irwin High School in St James has become the first to receive musical instruments to furnish its lab through the Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education (CHASE) Fund to the tune of $400,000.

The Jamaican Government will apparently receive no cash, but instead get a 25 per cent stake valued at US$25 million (J$1.8 billion) in the vehicle being used by Infinity Bio-Energy, the Brazil-based ethanol manufacturer, to acquire the state-owned sugar company.

Air Jamaica movesdo not go far enough
Don Wehby, the minister who has responsibility for Air Jamaica, came as close as he could to doing the next best thing. The best thing would have been to take Air Jamaica out of its misery by shutting it down, thus saving taxpayers a big, fat wad of money.
