Miller

Claim to fame: Powerhouse vocalist who had successful solo career with Studio One and Augustus Pablo. Frontman for the Inner Circle band.

Facts: Recorded his first hit song, Love is the Message, for Studio One while still a teenager. Would later re-record song as Keep on Knocking for Augustus Pablo.

Trivia: Was reportedly first choice to record Nanny Goat (said to be the first reggae song) but was passed over for Larry Marshall who had a more mature sound.

Recorded several strong sides throughout the 1970s including Suzy Wong, Jah Would Never (Give the Power to a Baldhead), Tired Fi Lick Weed, Tenement Yard and Shaky Girl.

Miller appeared in the low-budget film, Rockers. Performed at the One Love Peace Concert in April, 1978.

Jacob Miller died in March, 1980 in a motor accident. He was 27 years old.
