Former national women's and youth coach, Bradley Stewart, is actively being pursued by Waterhouse and Rivoli football clubs for the upcoming 2008-09 National Premier League (NPL) season.

Stewart, who is one of the most-travelled coaches in the county, is wanted by Waterhouse to fill the post of a technical adviser, while Rivoli are reportedly seeking him to fill the post of head coach.

"We are in discussions with Bradley. However, at this stage, everything is premature," said Peter Hibbert, president of Waterhouse FC.

"We will be having a meeting with the coaching staff and other officials of the club to further discuss the matter, after which a decision will be taken as to the direction we go," he added.

A football tactician and analyst, Stewart has had coaching stints with a number of NPL clubs in the past. These include Hazard United (now Portmore United), Duhaney Park FC, Constant Spring FC and Arnett Gardens FC.

Technical know-how

Waterhouse, which is at present being coached by Wayne Fairclough, finished fifth last season.

Rivoli, which gained promotion to this season's competition after finishing second to Meadhaven United in the play-offs, is being conditioned by Anthony Thompson.

A St Catherine Football Association official, who declined to be named, said " ... The club is seeking the services of Bradley, as not only does he know the environs of the club, having coached here in the past, but he also has the technical know-how."

The 2008-09 NPL season is scheduled to get under way on Sunday, August 24.
