Della fades away
published: Tuesday | July 15, 2008

Della Manley

Folk singer Della Manley has covered the classic song, Fade Away, which was first done in 1975 by roots vocalist Junior Byles.

Her version was produced by the Fire House Crew, best known for their work with Luciano and Sizzla. The song is to be marketed by the In De Streetz distribution company.

Manley and the Fire House Crew first worked together on her Barbican Square album which was released in 2006. They produced the song, I Know, which was done with Mutabaruka.

Fade Away was written and produced by respected session guitarist Earl 'Chinna' Smith. Recorded at Channel One, it was a minor hit but has emerged as a bona fide classic, thanks to power play at dances and on mainstream radio.
