LETTER OF THE DAY: The police, judiciary and defence counsel
THE EDITOR, Sir:Over the last few weeks, there has been a lot said both in the printed and the electronic media by the police and others, all denigrating defence counsel.

Sand in our faces

The Editor, Sir:Regarding the sand mining in Coral Springs, Trelawny, old-time people say 'tief from tief, God laugh'.

Substitutes for lead shots

The Editor, Sir:Dr Gerald Lalor's recent piece in your newspaper, titled 'Lead shots, sinkers can harm wildlife', quite correctly claims that lead shots can have a disastrous impact on wildlife.

Transporting scrap metal

The Editor, Sir: Now that the export of scrap metal has resumed, motorists are yet again faced with the troubling possibility that precariously positioned scrap metal will fall from the back of vehicles on which these metals are being transported, resulting in injury, damage to motor vehicles and worst yet death of motorists and/or pedestrians..

Keep Air Jamaica flying

The Editor, Sir:Closing Air Jamaica down would be a catastrophic mistake.
