Farm products
I was always an advocate of Jamaicans eating what the country produces as much as they can - it would be so much better for the economy.
But on my recent visit, every onion I saw my mother cut that was bought in Jamaica when you get to the middle it was no good; the carrots about half from the top down were green and could not be used.
Let us be reasonable. If you go to the supermarket, you want to get value for your money. Do you believe the consumer is going to purchase things Jamaican if they know they can get a better product?
Farmers should produce better products, wait until their products are ready to go to the market before they harvest their crops or they will be constantly complaining of not getting sale for their products

PNP debate
When the People's National Party had its leadership contest in 2005/6, I was disappointed that, for whatever reason, there was no public debate by the candidates.
I hope that before the 2008 presidential election, the party delegates (and the Jamaican public) will see and hear the contenders debating the fundamental issues, articulating their vision of the party's character, its philosophy and its role in 21st century Jamaica.

CWJ Non-service
As a long-term subscriber to Cable and Wireless, both land-line and DSL service, I thought nothing worse could occur from its renowned mismanagement. I was wrong again.
On May 12, I visited its offices in MoBay to have my service transferred to my new residence in Long Bay district, St. James.
Two months have passed without the service being installed. I have been billed by C&W for that inert period, and now I'm in peril of being fined and cut off from a non-'service' that has been nothing more than an expensive and demoralising game.
When will the citizens of Jamaica stand up against this continual non-service?

Big-up Jamaica!
The front page declaration from Mark Kerr Jarrett was beautiful.
It is high time we Jamaicans should big up the good in us and the nation, rather that the gloom and doom. One love, Jamaica.
