Not many people realised the Hilton Kingston hotel was celebrating 10 years but, for the management and staff, it has been quite a ride.
As part of the activities, members of the media were special guests at a luncheon on Wednesday. And why not, considering that without the public knowing about all the nifty little innovations the hotel's team dreams up, the rooms would be empty? And it was with that sense of gratitude that members of the fourth estate were treated to an event with great entertainment, wine, fine food and overall good vibes.
General Manager Frank Rosheuvel briefly recalled some of the hotel's ongoing projects including the start of the KIDS golf tournament, its mentorship programme, scholarships at the University of Technology as well as overall contributions to the needy. With all the activities the Hilton Kingston has been up to, it led a few guests to wonder if it's been longer than a decade.
With Dwight Pinkney and Friends serenading and inveigling a few guests to briefly vacate their seats, it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon before heading off to the busy newsrooms.
Guests out included: Christene King, Tony Young, Kesi Asher, Odene Jackson, Gillian Taylor, Clifford DaCosta, Chantal Hylton-Tonnes, Winford Williams, Kay Osborne and Beverley Anderson-Manley.
