The new BNS boss
published: Wednesday | July 30, 2008

Bruce Bowen, seen here, will take over as CEO of Scotiabank Jamaica on October 31. Bowen, who has been with the Canadian banking group since 1990, has worked in Jamaica before as senior general manager. He kept a low profile but has been described by sources in the bank as tough and no-nonsense. He returns to Jamaica from Peru to work with outgoing CEO William 'Bill' Clarke through his three-month transition. Clarke departs the bank after 40 years.

Correction & Clarification

In Wednesday’s business section of The Gleaner, the new CEO of Scotiabank Jamaica, Bruce Bowen, was identified in the captioned photograph, ‘The new BNS boss’, as returning from Peru to head the Jamaica operations of the bank where he once worked as a senior general manager. This is incorrect. Mr Bowen is in fact returning from Puerto Rico.

We regret the error and any inconvenience that may have been caused.
