Cavalier are KSAFA Under-15 champions
Cavalier won the KSAFA/ Shipping Association-sponsored Under-15 football competition for the Winston Chung-Fah Trophy last Friday when they defeated Boys' Town 4-2 on penalty kicks at the Harbour View Mini-stadium.
In an evenly-contested match, both teams failed to score in regulation and extra time and it came down to penalty kicks.
Cavalier kept their composure in the shootout with Romario Jones, Michaelous Martin, Chad Lewis and Don Scotland converting their penalty kicks to give Cavalier their first hold on the trophy after five attempts at this level.
Rudolph Speid, chairman of Cavalier, said he was proud of the youngsters and said this should help to motivate the over-17 team which is unbeaten in its zone.
"It is significant to note that this was the same team that came third in the Under-13 competition last year and their success speaks volumes for the youth development programme at Cavalier," said Speid.
