Like her move from Pennsylvania to New York, Ronnie Goldberg's career has taken a few twists and turns to her current position of executive vice-president and senior policy officer, policy and programmes, at the United States Council for International Business (USCIB). She is also the regional vice-president for International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and was in the island recently for the Jamaica Employers' Federation's launch of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report.
"I feel very fortunate. It's an evolution and I've been lucky to have had a liberal arts education to prepare me for variety, flexibility and freedom to pursue subjects that interest me, and a lot of luck." she notes of her career path.
Goldberg received a bachelor's degree in political science from Bryn Mawr College, and is the recipient of both Woodrow Wilson and Ford Fellowships. She holds a master's degree in the history of political thought from the London School of Economics and a PhD in political science from the University of Chicago. These studies were all driven by Goldberg's curiosity of how things work. "I love seeing how projects relate to how we do trade, seeing the connection. What goes into the mechanisms a policy goes through; the connection and how it affects people's lives.
