Effects of bad counselling
published: Friday | August 8, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

Over the last decade, both political administrations have suffered badly. Some have even lost favour with God because of those from whom they have taken counsel.

We have seen past leaders suffer defeat because of their counsellors; and we have seen this present administration fall out of favour because of the counsellors wherever they may be - PSOJ, government or otherwise. This new anti-crime initiative will not work, based on the following:

More prisons will need to be built, the wrong persons will be targeted - the poor, the fatherless and the widow; only lawyers will benefit; there will be more chaos within the justice system; more human rights groups will spring up; more people will be turned off from the Church; more politicians will lose their seats; more lawsuits will be filed against the Government; violence will increase significantly; it may cause a short tenure for the present administration.

I am, etc,

APOSTLE STEVE LYSTON
