published: Saturday | August 9, 2008

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC):

Jamaica and hosts Trinidad & Tobago will face off in the inaugural Caribbean Football Union Girl's Invitational Under-15 final tomorrow at the Marvin Lee Stadium, after contrasting semi-final wins at the same venue Thursday.

Jamaica reached the title match when they crushed The Bahamas 6-0, while T&T needed a hat-trick from striker Jo-Marie Lewis, which included a first-half brace, to secure a come-from-behind 4-1 win over Haiti.

hat-trick

Playing in the day's first semi-final, Shenika Williams netted a hat-trick to power Jamaica past the hapless Bahamas.

Williams opened the scoring for the Jamaicans in the 23rd minute and Trudi Carter added a second five minutes later.

Leading 2-0 at half-time, Jamaica scored three goals in the space of 10 minutes to effectively put the game out of The Bahamas' reach.

Williams netted in the 50th and 60th minutes, while Trudi Carter added her second in the 55th to blitz the Bahamians. Shauntae Brown scored the final goal in the 75th minute for the winners.

stunning Haitians

In the second match, the Haitians stunned the small crowd at Macoya when Sindy Jeune scored only after five minutes to put her team ahead.

Lewis hit back for T&T with goals in the 17th and 33rd minute, as the hosts led 2-1 at the end of the first half.

Khadisha Debisette extended the lead to 3-1 in the 73rd minute and two minutes later Lewis completed her hat-trick, her second of the tournament, to ensure T&T's meeting with the Reggae Girlz in the final.
