Ethanol delay

It is way beyond comprehension why our Government is delaying the introduction of ethanol into the gasoline distribution system in Jamaica.

Ethanol mixing into gasolene is normally done at the ramp from which tankers get the fuel. For every 10,000 gallons of fuel, we have to mix 1,000 gallons of ethanol, and that is all.

The Gasolene Retailers' Association is just being unreasonable due to their private interest, rather than have the interest of the entire country at heart.

There is hope

Last Wednesday, we celebrated Independence and, trust me, as the rastamen say, I 'fulljoyed' myself. It's the first in a long while I've seen people from different age groups enjoying themselves with pleasant music (no Kartel and Mavado) from the past.

That's the way Jamaica should be 365 days a year. It wasn't a murder scene nor a riot; it was Independence Day.

I just want to thank the criminals for not interrupting the festivities and for continuing to hold the peace, and bringing in the guns and 'find a work'. From what I've seen yesterday, THERE IS HOPE.

Float Parade

It was such a pleasure to read about the return of the float parade. I remember, as a young girl growing up, 'dressing up' to go see the parade in the latest wear of that year.

My favourite were those 'white boots' and dancing to, What a Bam Bam. I am sure lots more people can relate to that era. Great, great work, madam minister.
