NOTE-WORTHY

Poverty line

I want to talk about poverty in Jamaica. On my last visit to the island I had the chance to tour a few parishes and I was surprised to see how much things have improved for the better.

I sincerely hope it will continue. My question to the prime minister is will he be willing to give some financial support to the not so fortunate? Doing so would help them in a small way and also give them a chance to stay above the poverty line and to live a better life. I hope he sees it as a matter of priority and addresses the matter very soon.

The people of Jamaica have come a long way and all deserve life's best. So mr prime minister show me that you care for all your people. Please start doing the right thing, sir.

Uplifting Jamaica

I am curious as to how we can improve our beautiful nation and uplift our people, as we've had enough hard times. Not to mention the farmers and the farming industry, especially the United States influence on our markets.

Because it seems that outside hands are utilising our nation more than our own people or government. I think its time we revolutionise ourselves and give Jamaicans a reason to have so much PRIDE, and inform the world that we are more than reggae, Rastas, and weed; but that we are a people of change, art, revolution, progress, and making the world better than what it is!

Jamaica doing well

I was so elated to see how the Independence celebrations took a different turn this year. I am living overseas and am in close contact with what goes on in my country.

Although sometimes I feel so hurt about the crime situation, I believe Jamaica is still one of the best countries around. I am also a sports fanatic and thus excited to see what is going to happen in Beijing over this coming week. I know without a doubt that Jamaica is going to do well.

This will bring a good report to the world that we are still not the worst. Jamaicans, live well with each other, stop your fighting and killing, be good, love you all. God bless you Jamaica! Ms Babsy thumbs up for exemplary celebrations!
