Complaints about TV transmission
published: Tuesday | August 12, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

To the dismay of most of us in Mandeville who were looking forward to the Olympic Games with great anticipation, the transmission has been monopolised by the local TV stations, without taking into consideration their inability to give good coverage due to lack of proper technical equipment, untrained commentators, dreadful advertisements and very poor reception in the country parts.

Why should the public have to put up with such mediocrity! When trying to watch the opening ceremony, the cloudiness was so bad, we wondered if the contamination in Beijing was part of the problem! We are appealing to the powers that be, the sponsors, et cetera, to reconsider and at least unblock the replays on NBC.

I am, etc.,
